Dear Colleagues, We have great pleasure in inviting you to join us for Neuropathology 2002, the 7th European Congress of Neuropathology to be held in Helsinki, Finland, 13-16 July 2002. The scientific programme will cover all important aspects of neuropathology. Emphasis will be on molecular, cell biological and transgenic approaches to the study of the causes and mechanisms of neurological diseases, on the newest diagnostic applications and their relevance to patient care. Our aim is not only to bring together an international community of outstanding scientists but also to attract young investigators and trainees by providing continuing medical education at reasonable expense. In addition to invited lectures and workshops, free communications are welcome for poster or selected oral presentation. We shall do our best to create a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere to stimulate exchange of ideas and professional experience. The ultramodern Biomedicum Helsinki, the biomedical research centre of the University of Helsinki, will provide an attractive and cost-effective setting for the Congress. It is conveniently located with easy access to the many attractions of Helsinki, the fresh and dynamic capital of Finland, a country known not only for its advanced information and telecommunications technology but also for its unspoiled Nordic nature, architecture, design and music. We look forward to seeing you in Helsinki in July 2002. |

P.S. To make the best of their Scandinavian scientific tour, participants are encouraged to continue to Stockholm, Sweden, to the 8th International Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders on 20-25 July 2002. Helsinki is also an ideal base for pre- or post-congress tours to Lapland – the Land of the Midnight Sun, the North Cape, the Baltic countries, or to St. Petersburg, the old capital of Imperial Russia, with its immense art treasures. And for ultimate relaxation do not forget to take an authentic Finnish sauna bath with a refreshing dip into one of the 188 000 lakes of Finland. |
